UNC – Fall

The fall semester in Sevilla offers a front-row seat to the city as it transitions through the seasons. You’ll arrive at the tail end of summer and depart just as winter begins, experiencing Sevilla at its most dynamic. During your semester, you can spend weekends at the beach, attend professional soccer matches, and take part in cultural festivals across the city. You’ll also have the opportunity to expand your perspective through events like the Sevilla European Film Festival and, later, witness the city’s tranformation as the holiday seasons approaches. These experiences, both big and small, will shape unforgettable memories and make your semester abroad in Sevilla truly one of a kind.

Lower Intermediate (LINT)

Designed for students who have completed Elementary Spanish II, the Lower Intermediate Spanish (LINT) program allows you to take the next step in your language developments while studying abroad in Sevilla. Students complete Spanish 203 at COWA and enroll in additional courses taught in English at the Universidad de Sevilla or at EUSA alongside other international students. Courses span a wide range of disciplines including tourism, art, history, business, journalism, politics, and sociology.

Upper Intermediate (UPINT)

Designed for students who have complete Intermediate Spanish II but don’t yet feel confident holding a conversation, the Upper Intermediate Program (UPINT) offers the chance to put your classroom learning into practice in Sevilla. Students complete advanced coursework in areas such as art, language, history and politics through COWA, alongside others in the program and may also take one course in Spanish or English at the Universidad de Sevilla with other international students.

Advanced Program (AP)

Designed for students ready to challenge themselves and move closer to Spanish fluency, the Advanced Program (AP) in Sevilla offers full immersion through rigorous academic coursework. Student who have completed Advanced Spanish coursework (SPAN 261, 300, 301 or higher) enroll in at least one regular university course alonside native Spanish students at the Universidad de Sevilla or Campus Universitario EUSA. In addition, AP students may take COWA courses – taught by local professors – that are pre-approved for UNC credit and tailored specifically to advanced learners.
