This student is seeking approval for participation in a semester abroad program. The proposed program offers students the opportunity to complete coursework in several disciplines related to Hispanic Studies in order to obtain the necessary skills, knowledge, and competencies expected of an undergraduate Spanish major or minor at Ohio State. All courses feature face-to-face instruction with the same number of contact hours as their Ohio State equivalents; some also include service-learning or other community-engagement components. The program also provides cultural activities and excursions to complement the in-class learning and to maximize cultural understanding.
