Human Resources Management

Program Overview

Success in today’s global economy requires greater knowledge of workplace practices and cultures outside the US. The Poole College of Management Human Resources Management in Seville program allows students to observe and understand business practices from a Spanish perspective. In addition to taking a class taught by an NC State professor, students will visit local businesses and hear from guest speakers. Students will gain a better understanding of business practices in Spain and globally.

Students will enroll in two 3-credit classes.

MIE 330: Resource Management

3 credit hours

Rich Podurgal

This course teaches the principles for managing the human resource component of organizations. The NC State faculty member will cover recruitment, workforce diversity, compensation, and employee-management relations. Business visits, guest speakers, and activities outside of the classroom provide real-world examples of these topics in the context of the business landscape of Spain and Sevilla.

M 380: Doing Business Globally

3 credit hours

This course complements MIE 330 and will earn three credit hours for the business visits and guest speakers.
